MARKET INFORMATION:
Promoted by market needs, China's die & mould
industry maintains a sustainable, steady and healthy
development under the guidance of national industrial
development policies. The mould sales revenue in 2007
reached RMB 87 billion with an increase by 21% in comparison
with 2006's one. The export revenue is over USD 1.4 billion
with an increase by 36% in comparison with the last year's
revenue of USD 1.04 billion. China's mould import value
has kept a level of USD 2 billion for three years successively.
It is estimated that the approximate increase of mould
industry in 2008 will be at 20% with an emphasis in technology-intensive
moulds.
China has a tremendous mould market. In recent years, the annual procurement
value of auto components/parts from China by transnational corporations is over
USD 35 billion, for the most part made by moulds. The 90% of world top 500 have
already set up their sourcing centers or offices in Shanghai. Stimulated by die & mould
industry development, there are a great demands in China's market for advanced
process/manufacture equipment, manufacture software and cutting tools. The mould
workpiece as an extension product of die & mould enterprise, the precise
extruding machinery and numerical control forging equipment needed by mould workpiece
production are in urgent requirements.
The sampling among 169 enterprises in die & mould industry shows that the
newly-increased investment in 2007 for technology innovation is about RMB 1.3
billion, the 90%-plus off for procurement of process/ manufacture equipment.
In accordance with statistics from Customs Office in 2007, the import value of
NC milling increased by 75.5% in comparison with 2006's one. The import value
of gantry machining centers in 2007 increased by 48.7% with comparison to 2006's
one. Both are the focuses of procurement in die & mould industry. The investigation
shows that the procurement for NC machining centers, NC milling, high precision
EDM, precision grinding machine and precision measuring machine by mould enterprises
are continuously going up. Meanwhile, the investment ratio of procurement for
precision extruding machinery and NC forging equipment has been upgraded. Looking
forward to the years of 2008 and 2009, such a momentum will keep on going too.
CHINA DIE AND MOULD INDUSTRY ASSOCIATION:
China
Die and Mould Industry Association (CDMIA) was founded
in October, 1984. It is the sole nationwide organization
in the trade of dies and moulds in China, which is constituted
in the principle of voluntary membership of enterprises,
scientific research institutions, universities and colleges
and social institutions related to the die and mould
industry.
CDMIA has presently over 1500 group members and 50 sub-associations
in all the provinces, municipalities, autonomous regions,
individually planned open-door cities and major industrial
cities.
China Die & Mould Industry Association is a founding
member of FADMA and a formal member of ISTMA/FADMA. CDMIA
has already established good relations with dle and mould
industries in various countries and regions.
