| Die & Mould China (International Exhibition
on Die & Mould Technology and Equipment) jointly organized
by the China Die & Mould Industry Association (CDMIA)
and Shanghai International Exhibition Co., Ltd. (SIEC)
is staged biennially in Shanghai in May of even years.
Since 1986 eleven editions have been held, playing an
important role in various aspects, such as technological
exchange, economic cooperation, opening the market and
trade expansion. All these events have won a total success.
China has placed the dies, moulds and the processing
technology and equipment in ¡°the Catalogue of Industries,
Products and Technologies that China Encourages to Develop¡±
and also placed in ¡°the Catalogue of Industries that
China Encourages Foreign Investors to Enter¡±. We are
sure that our overseas counterparts will find their
business activities fruitful during Die & Mould
China 2008.
The total sales revenue of China¡¯s die & mould
was over RMB72 billion in 2006, a rise of about 18%
over that of 2005. The production level of die &
mould has been greatly improved. The imports and exports
growth of die & mould also upsurges. In 2006 the
imports of die & mould were US$2.047 billion, an
equal with that of 2005; the exports of die & mould
were US$1.041 billion, up 41.06% over that of 2005.
The total amount of imports and exports jumped 10.05%
over that of 2005.
The rapid development of the die & mould industry
has created for China a greater need for advanced processing
technology and equipment. In 2007, the total sales revenue
of China¡¯s machine tools is expected to be RMB180 billion,
achieving a growth rate of 15%. China¡¯s imports of CNC
machine tools reached US$4.3 billion. China continued
to be the biggest consumer and importer of machine tools
in the world in 2006 and the consumption amount of the
machine tools in China¡¯s die & mould industry accounted
for one tenth of the total machine tool consumption
in China. Forming machinery & equipment grows in
step with die and mould. Fine plastic machinery and
CNC forging press machines also provide the die and
mould enterprises with machinery for manufacturing the
die and mould products.
China Die & Mould Industry Association (CDMIA)
has presently over 1,500 group members and it is the
sole national association in China¡¯s die and mould industry.
Die & Mould China organized in Shanghai in every
even year has been admitted as UFI member.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all
our participants in our previous events for their support
and to cordially invite the manufacturers of die and
mould, machine tools, CAD/CAM software and tools, and
related associations from all over the world to participate
in Die & Mould China 2008 which is going to be held
in Shanghai from May12-16, 2008.
We are looking forward to seeing you in Die & Mould
China 2008 in Shanghai.
